The following is the text from a letter that was sent to all residents in late January 2009,
Dear Owner(s):
RE: PARKING
The Tanglewood Condominium Board and Condominium First are taking this opportunity to update and re-iterate the parking guidelines that apply to the condominium owned streets in our community.
By-law 53 of the Tanglewood Condominium Corporation states:
“No Owner nor any of his family members, guests, tenants, occupiers, servants, agents or contractors shall park a motor vehicle or automobile on any part of the Parcel except in the garage upon his unit and the area in front of such garage, and except that the guests or invitees of an Owner or his tenant may park a motor vehicle or automobile in areas, if any, upon the Common Property designated by the Board for parking and during such times as designated by the Board”.
As stated in the recent letter sent to residents regarding the implementation of a fire lane throughout our community, the streets of Tusslewood Heights, Tusslewood View, Tusslewood Bay and Tusslewood Grove are not wide enough to support parking on both sides of the street and allow an emergency vehicle enough space to pass by. The installation of the fire lane signs has been delayed due to difficulties with our contractor and may not be complete until spring 2009 when the ground thaws. Consequently, residents and their guests are asked to avoid parking directly across from another vehicle while we await the installation of the fire lane signs.
Additionally, residents are asked to:
- Use their garages and driveways, whenever possible, for their own cars and those of their guests.
- Avoid overnight parking, residents and guests are expected to use driveways and garages for overnight parking.
- Park their cars fully on their driveways, not overhanging on the streets or common property.
The Board has requested the voluntary co-operation of residents in these matters rather than erect further signage (ie. No overnight parking signs) accompanied by City of Calgary parking enforcement.
