Snow Removal

Winter may be a distant memory, but the matter of snow removal is a year round topic of discussion for the Tanglewood Board of Directors.

This year, the following decisions were made regarding snow removal:

1. Continue to clear snow from the private streets in Tanglewood.
2. Continue to clear sidewalks from all sidewalks in Tanglewood.
3. Discontinue the clearing of the public pathways for the following reasons:
  • Potential liability issues
  • Many owners do not use the pathway system
  • Manu owners do not have close proximity to the path systems
  • Regular maintenance of the path systems would require fee increases

An annual review is conducted to investigate the costs for the level of service and the liability associated with clearing the public streets and pathways.  Unfortunately for the resident's on Tusslewood Drive and Tuscany Springs Blvd., the Condominium Corporation has been advised that they are unable to clear City of Calgary streets.  As best we can determine, Tanglewood is the only Condominium Association, that has City owned streets within its boundaries.  We clearly understand the frustrations that our residents on these streets are encountering.  The Board is continually looking at various alternatives to see if we can re-introduce snow removal and street cleaning on these streets.
